Abstrakt: The paper examines the semantic and formal features of phrasemes with reciprocal meaning, mainly those features which in some way are related to the category of reciprocity. The result of this analysis is semantic classification according to different criteria: inherently reciprocal phrasemes (including cases where a reciprocal unit is part of the phraseme) × phrasemes used in a reciprocal syntactical construction; phrasemes expressing a physical contact × an act of communication × emotion, etc.; phrasemes which conceptualize a reciprocal situation as a non-reciprocal situation × a non-reciprocal situation as a reciprocal situation × a non-physical situation as a physical situation, etc. The whole set of phrasemes with reciprocal meaning can be arranged in a circular way, with the centre (conceived as so-called radial category) being formed by phrasemes expressing the meanings of sameness and distinctness. The paper also addresses the question of which formal components are (or might be) indicative of the reciprocal meaning of the phraseme.
