Abstrakt: This article focuses on the issue of accent of Czech as a second language teachers who are not native speakers of Czech. The research conducted on the recognition of non-native accent in teachers’ speech features children with different language backgrounds as respondents. It also considers the unique perspective of bilingual children. The results of the research are confronted with investigations from Anglophone or other settings and hypotheses about potential universal traits of accents across languages are discussed.
