Abstrakt: The Brdy Highlands situated southwest from Prague is composed of three parts - Brdy, Hřebeny and hilly area of Příbram. The Brdy Highlands is primarily known in the past as an area for mining and processing of metals, coal mining, and later uranium ore mining. There were also several glassworks in the past centuries and from 1996 small family glassworks SHB in Bělčice village continue in this tradition and operate south of the observed highlands. There are many toponyms relating to the extinct glassworks and subsequent operations associated with the manufacturing of glass which worked here in the past. We excerpted them from written sources and literature supplemented by cartographic study.
