Střed/Centre is a peer-reviewed journal thematically focused on the study of society, culture, politics and economics in Central Europe from the 19th century to the present. The journal’s disciplinary focus is on historical sciences and historically oriented humanities and social science research with an emphasis on interdisciplinary dialogue. The journal aims to bring together the vast but highly fragmented field of research on the Central European area. To this end, the journal publishes texts in English as well as Czech.
Střed/Centre is published twice a year and accepts manuscripts of research, discussion and review articles on a rolling basis. In addition, it publishes thematically focused issues, the preparation of which it informs the professional public in advance through a call for papers. Střed/Centre is indexed in the international databases SCOPUS, EBSCO, ERIH Plus and CEEOL. The journal is published by the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the CAS, in cooperation with the CEVRO Institute.
