The find of a denier of Emperor Louis the Pious near Mydlovary (Tachov district)

Abstract: In January 2025, Petr Londa discovered a broken denier of Emperor Louis the Pious during a metal detector survey in the territory of Mydlovary, municipality of Křelovice (Tachov District), on the forest plot no. 881. The findspot is located approximately 760 meters west of the village center, on the southeastern edge of a forest complex that includes two significant Slavic hillforts, Bezemín and Šipín, along with numerous prehistoric and Slavic burial mounds in the surrounding area. The nearest early medieval burial site lies just 150 meters from the findspot.
