Abstract: During a metal detector survey in the cadastral area of the village of Hrušky (Břeclav District), an Argentine 2 centavos coin from 1893 was discovered. Several years later, a Brazilian 40 réis coin from 1897 was found in a family house in Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou (Znojmo District). Their presence in Moravia can be associated with the emigration of local inhabitants to South America at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
