Mediaevalia Historica Bohemica

MHB is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to medieval Czech history in the context of Central European and European development, published by the Institute of History of the CAS. The journal was founded on 1 October 1990 when it split from the series Folia Historica Bohemica, which at the same time focused only on the early modern period. Although the majority of the published texts are studies by domestic and foreign medievalists with a bohemical themes, the journal tries to go beyond the domestic geographical horizon. The Czech lands were not only an integral part of Central European geopolitical space, but also of the wider European cultural and socio-economic area. MHB also seeks to publish texts with comparative potential, or studies whose methodological and interpretive backround can be beneficial for research in general. Since 2007 MHB belongs to the category of internationally renowned scientific journals (Int2) of the European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH PLUS). As of 2017, MHB is indexed in the international database of scientific peer-reviewed literature SCOPUS. The journal is indexed also in the DOAJ database. It is currently published in Libre Open Access mode twice a year. The main publication languages are Czech, English and German. There is no charge of any fee for publishing the article.
