Abstrakt: This study seeks documentary evidence for the establishment of a separate fund intended for the maintenance of the church building and liturgical operations (fabrica ecclesie). It compiles reports on its existence and administration, specifically regarding the presence of laypeople who managed these funds (churchwardens). The first records of donations to the church (opus ecclesie) date back to the 12th–13th centuries, and the term fabrica has been in use in the Czech context since the late 13th century. Churchwardens are attested from the early 14th century.
