Abstrakt: The goal of the article is to highlight the yet unappreciated but often-problematic interpretational testimonial value of eccentrically located churches (up to about 1km away from the adjacent village). The subject of study is the consideration of a range of aspects and processes that could have influenced the eccentric location of the churches, including potentially destructive natural processes such as floods or slope deformations.
