Abstrakt: The text presents information about nine statues of St. John of Nepomuk, which were located outside the Prague walls. Although the reasons for erecting these statues were different, their common denominator was their location in a dominant and frequented place on the roads leading to Prague. These statues, most of which have now disappeared, were one of many signs that signaled the proximity of Prague in the landscape. They symbolically blessed the space, filled it with meaning and marked out the territory closely connected with the work, death and posthumous glory of St. John of Nepomuk.
