Abstrakt: The League of Zelená Hora was an organisation of the Bohemian upper Catholic nobility, which in 1467–1471 led a military conflict with the Bohemian king George of Poděbrady. The study shows the true face of this “holy war”. Positional battles for castles and other strongholds in Bohemia dominated, accompanied by an effort to economically cripple the enemy, which led to significant devastation of the land. Defensive and offensive activities, the composition of the army and the war economy, which significantly influenced the chosen tactics, are scrutinised. The paper also reflects on the level of violence and questions of respect for the period rules of war and aristocratic ethics.
