Abstrakt: Bohuslav Balbín was one of the most important figures in Baroque historiography in Bohemia. His works covered a wide range of topics, from the history of Marian pilgrimage sites through the history of individual noble families to the history of Bohemia. The annotated article deals with the relationship between Bohuslav Balbín and the Bohemian post-White Mountain nobility and attempts to describe how these contacts influenced the work of this famous Jesuit or how they benefited representatives of noble families who built their prestige on the historical exclusivity of their own family and the exceptional deeds of their ancestors.
